Circular is the recruitment platform that leverages referrals from a network of thousands of companies to connect you with quality tech talent.
What was the challenge?
We needed a solution that would help us reduce the time users spent on our platform when searching for candidates. It was necessary to streamline and expedite both the job creation processes and the management of candidates and open selection processes. The main goal was to assist recruiters in spending less time on candidate searches.
What was the role in this project?
I conduct an initial kick-off session to establish project foundations and objectives with key stakeholders at Circular. Following this, I initiated an extensive UX Research and Discovery process to analyze our main competitors and generate solution ideas aimed at directly impacting our time reduction goal. Once the definition materializes, I validate these ideas with both stakeholders and users.
What did we do?
After a thorough UX analysis of the competition and an assessment of potential technical constraints, we concluded that the better solution was to initiate an integration process with the main ATS systems used by our users.
This would significantly expedite our recruiters' internal processes by enabling seamless candidate management on both platforms and directly importing job processes from their ATS to Circular.

Discovery
We were in search of a solution to cut down the time users dedicated to candidate searches on our platform. Our main goal was to simplify and speed up not only the creation of job opportunities but also the management of candidates and the facilitation of open selection processes.
The strategic solution
The need to integrate third-party tools, such as HR software and ATS platforms, was a key insight from our evaluation, indicating users' desire for a more seamless solution.
Many participants currently rely on external tools for candidate tracking, revealing an opportunity to enhance candidate management features within our platform by addressing the issues they encounter and integrating them with the core features of an ATS.
Additionally, the proposed improvement to the feedback mechanism for non-selected candidates highlights an opportunity to increase referrals within our platform. It also enables recruiters to bring highly qualified candidates from their ATS to our platform, expanding our candidate pool and improving the overall user experience for other recruiters.
This strategic approach not only enhances candidate engagement but also increases the platform's potential to connect recruiters with overlooked, highly qualified individuals from previous hiring processes, exponentially growing the Circular user community.
A delivery overview
Once we’ve studied the technical requirements and the different features needed for this solution, it's time to be creative and bold.
Propose any possible tangible solution for the problem, taking into account the research we've conducted until now to start designing the screens and the user flows. Competitor analysis, benchmarking, and interviews have been a good source of ideas. Now, it's time to shape the layouts and organize the information effectively.
The landing
We developed a targeted landing page to reach new companies not yet on Circular and to notify those who hadn't connected their ATS.
Leveraging insights gathered during onboarding, we identified the specific ATS used by each company on our platform. This facilitated a seamless branding experience, as we customized each landing page with the respective colors and logotypes of the integrated ATS.
To ensure scalability as we expanded our ATS integrations, we implemented a robust system of components and libraries for streamlined brand adaptation across various platforms.
